Andrea D, a worker at Chick-Fil-A in Oceanside is “very excited for the new Chick-Fil-A to come out. “I love working at Chick-Fil-A and think that a Carlsbad Chick-Fil-A is a great idea,” she said.

Later this year will be the perfect time to go “Eat mor chikin.” Chick-fil-A is a well-liked fast food restaurant with their famous chicken sandwiches, milkshakes and more.

Customers should expect the Chick-fil-A to open at 5850 Avenida Encinas at the end of the year or the start of 2024. The Carlsbad City Council approved the fast food restaurant on Feb. 22.

The facility is a 3,932-square-foot Chick-fil-A restaurant on two properties of a former 10,600-square-foot office building. There are very few fast-food restaurants in Carlsbad, so it was a surprise to citizens hearing about the new Chick-fil-A from the City Council. The city is expecting 100 to 120 employees to work in the new restaurant..

In-N-Out will be in the area next to Chick-fil-A as well as crosswalks for pedestrians to cross the street in various business parks.

“They are going to start the construction of Chick-fil-A next week,” says the owner of In-N-Out, Steven S. Steven is excited for the new Chick-fil-A opening next to his fast food restaurant. He says that it will create more business opportunities, and that more people driving by the area will stop by for the variety of the two fast food restaurants.

He thinks in the beginning, there will be more customers at Chick-fil-A than at In-N-Out, but eventually, more people will want to come to In-N-Out. Steven added, “ I like to eat at Chick-fil-A but like In-N-Out more.

“I don’t see it as a competition, because it’s a different culture, and I see it as a new opportunity to connect with different Chick-fil-As,” Jenise, one of the Chick-fil-A Oceanside managers, said.

“I think after about a year, they will still be the most popular because we connect a lot to the customers and because the Chick-fil-A is by two schools, Sage Creek High School and El Camino High School,” she said.

Jenise does not know the owner of the new Chick-fil-A, and she says that she did not know about it until now, but she has heard rumors. “I hope that they won’t steal all of our customers,” she said.

Andrea D, a worker at the Chick-fil-A in Oceanside is asked for her view on the new Chick-fil-A. She said, “I think that the restaurant will be very busy and there will be a lot of workers there.”

She imagines that having a Chick-fil-A in Carlsbad is a good idea because it will be easier for customers to get there. “Usually people in Carlsbad have to drive pretty far to get to the one in Oceanside,” she said.

Although she feels that Oceanside’s Chick-fil-A is the best one, she does have an idea for an improvement. “I think that the new Chick-fil-A could be a little more bigger, because this is a pretty small Chick-fil-A,” Andrea said. She loves working at Chick-fil-A, and is excited for the new one.

Lydia Kim goes to Chick-fil-A very often, and is very excited about it, and she says that she will definitely go to Chick-fil-A when it opens. “As an improvement, I wish for cheaper food because my meals are always expensive,” Kim said. She also desires a grown up meal and an “ice spice shake” as an addition to the Chick-fil-A menu.

To conclude, people are very excited for the Carlsbad Chick-fil-A and can’t wait to head over to Avenida Encinas to get their favorite chicken sandwich.
