Coming out on Dec. 18 is “Avengers: Doomsday.” The film will be directed by Anthony and Joe Russo.
The cast will include Pedro Pascal who plays “Star Wars’” Mandalorian as Mr. Fantastic; Vanessa Kirby who plays “Mission Impossible’s” White Widow as Invisible Woman; Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Brchrach returning from their roles in “Fantastic 4: First Steps” as Human Torch and The Thing; Chris Hemsworth, who plays “Transformers One”’s Orion Pax, as Thor; James Marsden, who plays “Sonic the Hedgehog’s” Tom, as Cyclops; and Robert Downey Jr. famous for his role as Iron Man as the titular character, Dr. Doom.
The film will feature hero groups such as Wakanda, the Fantastic Four and the X-Men. In the trailer, Wakanda meets with Ben Grimm, who is also known as The Thing, as they board a jet. It appears Wakanda has a new king named M’Baku who is a rival-turned-ally from the original Black Panther movie. Though not directly stated in the trailer but announced at ComicCon, Dr. Doom will be the main villain of the film.
Cardwell Hamilton, a senior at Sage Creek and a longtime Marvel fan, is excited for the movie.
“I’m most excited about how most of the Marvel characters we’ve seen for the past 20 years are coming back,” Hamilton said. “I’m most excited to see Dr. Doom return with a faithful, comic book adaptation of Dr. Doom.”
With all the new and returning characters, “Avengers: Doomsday” seems to be shaping up to be a good film.
