In Jan. 2018, Warner Bros. announced the 3D animated film, “Cat in the Hat,” scheduled to be released on Nov. 6.
The Cat will be voiced by the famous Bill Hader. He also voiced Flint Lockwood in the “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” franchise, Fear in the “Inside Out” franchise and Red from the “Angry Birds” franchise.
Gabby will be voiced by America Ferrera, who might be known as Astrid in the “How to Train Your Dragon” franchise.
The Fish will be voiced by Matt Berry, who might be recognized as the Nitwit from “A Minecraft Movie.”
The movie will be directed by Alessandro Carloni and Erica Rivinoja. The film will follow the Cat as he tries to cheer up Gabby and Sebastian, who are getting ready to move. The trailer hints that he is working for an organization called LLC (Limited Liability Company). In the company, everyone’s name rhymes like his (“Cat in the Hat”). This will be the first theatrical adaptation of the franchise since the 2003 live-action feature film. What the LLC does is still a mystery.
Allison Cunning, an aide at Sage Creek, saw the trailer.
“I think the animation style makes me most excited about it,” Cunning said. “I will definitely be taking my daughter to go see this.”
Tracy Poplawski, another aide at Sage Creek, is excited about the upcoming movie.
“I’m excited to hear Bill Hader’s voice as Cat in the Hat,” Poplawski said. “I always like Thing 1 and Thing 2 and the chaos they bring.”
While long-time fans of the Cat in the Hat franchise might know either Nick or Conrad as Sally’s brother, in the film, it’ll be Sebastian.
