In 2024, Disney announced the upcoming film “Hoppers” at the D23 expo. It follows Mabel, a college student who uses a fake beaver body through a neural link to help start an animal uprising but later regrets it.
“Hoppers” will star actors such as Dave Franco who plays Lloyd Garmadon in “The Lego Ninjago Movie” as Titus; Bobby Moynihan who plays Mel in “Secret Life of Pets” and “Secret Life of Pets 2” as King George; Demitri Marin who plays Ice bear in the “We Bare Bears” franchise as Des Oiseaux; and Piper Curda, who plays Alyssa in “Teen Beach Movie 2,” as Mabel.
The feature film jokes about it being like James Cameron’s “Avatar” franchise, with two scientists saying the already iconic line, “This is nothing like Avatar!”
The feature film is scheduled to release on March 6.
Mrs. Allison Cunning, a staff member at Sage Creek, saw the trailers recently. “I think it’s so great that we’re seeing a movie about the effects of urbanization on ecosystems being told from the eyes and hearts of animals,” Cunning said.
“I am interested in seeing how the human and animal characters find a solution together. I hope this movie can inspire communities to take action to protect their local ecosystems before the animals wage war on us,” Cunning said.
A senior at Sage Creek, Chili, also commented about the upcoming film. “The movie could be interesting. It seems like it will be able to hit a younger audience,” Chili said.
Teegan Hamilton, another senior at Sage Creek, commented about the upcoming film., “I like the animation style! It has that classic Pixar feel to it, like “Toy Story” or “Cars” have.”
