Arrival Is One Of This Year’s Best Films

Arrival’s Movie Cover covers only a part of what this wonderful movie has in-store for audiences.

Every year, there’s always one film that has a very fascinating story and a great cast of people. These films have the potential to win Oscars for Best Picture or even be nominated for a variety of other categories. In 2015, we had The Revenant and Ex Machina and now this year, we are introduced to the arrival of Arrival (See what I did there).

The film stars Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner and Forest Whitaker. How does this film compare to the other films in 2016? Is it the best film of 2016? Let’s find out.

Arrival tells a fictional story about a college science teacher named Louise Banks, played by Amy Adams, who travels with a group of scientists lead by Colonel Weber, played by Forest Whitaker, to an alien spaceship where they meet a fellow scientist played by Jeremy Renner. Their mission is to learn why they are there and what they want. Are they here to make peace with us or destroy us?

Arrival, in my opinion, is one of the best films of 2016. The film has an amazing story and characters that you stay connected with throughout the entire film. It has a great pace and you’ll never feel bored throughout the film. Arrival is also very intelligent in being aware of the type of environment it’s in and it has a strong foundation of scientific backgrounds to make the film very balanced.

The best comparison to Arrival is Christopher Nolan’s 2014 film, Interstellar. Both films have stories that keep you on your feet and are very entertaining. Both films also use logic and reason to drive their own plots, which makes both the films very smart.

Adams plays Louise Banks, who is the main lead in this film. She is a college science teacher who knows the language of an alien civilization. She did an amazing job as the lead character and brings a performance that makes you truly care and feel for her character due to her depressed and complex attitude throughout the entire film. Renner plays a scientist named Ian Donnelly, where he does a good job with his performance and his purpose in the film. He brings a lot of different elements to the film and makes the film more interesting and fascinating.

Even though the film has a plethora of positives, there is one minor flaw. Whitaker, who plays Colonel Weber didn’t have much of a purpose in the film and had a relatively small impact on the overall plot of the film. If he was given more screen time, he might have had more impact and a bigger purpose.

Overall, Arrival is an amazing movie. It features great acting from Adams and Renner as well as great character development from the cast overall. The story is well written and makes you want to see the film to the end while keeping you on your feet. Go see this film when you get the chance to. This is, in my opinion, the best film of 2016 and should definitely win countless awards at the Oscars.
