Red Ribbon Week Assembly Encourages Drug Prevention

  • Red bracelets are given out at the entrance of the bobcat arena that proudly state: “Reaching My Dreams My Choices My Future.” Within the mix, there were bracelets with a red ribbon heart design.

  • Natalia Fanucchi and Davian Rangel, ASB seniors and bobsquad presidents, pose with a red balloon that says “live life drug free.” The two incentivize school spirit and participation, evident in their involvement at the assembly.

  • Guest speaker Attila Hadnagy shares his life story and how drugs negatively impacted him. His speech intended to influence students to not use drugs due to their detrimental effects.

  • Students sit on the floor to watch as the speaker continues his presentation. Some students even went as far as to wear red shoes to support the cause.

  • Seniors Catherine “Cat” Laube and Dahlia Nichols form a heart with their hands. Many students sat with their grade level and friends during the assembly.

  • Susan Woolley, a math teacher at Sage Creek, listens as the presenter speaks to the student body and faculty. Woolley wore the color red in support of drug-abuse prevention.

  • Sage Creek students listen to the presentation. The banners and handrails are decked in red ribbons to represent Sage Creek’s stance against drug use.

  • Students exit the bobcat arena after the assembly ended. The assembly gave Sage Creek students something to think about as they headed to lunch.
