Katie Chrisman, the dance teacher.

Dance 1, Dance 2, and Dance 3 are all taught by Katie Chrisman. According to the Dance syllabus, Sage Creek Dance Department exists to challenge students to tap into their emotions through movement and release. Dancers will learn to use dance as a language to express themselves as well as a platform to tell their own stories through movement. Our intent will be artistically driven and our choreography purpose driven. The course is designed to develop movement skills while focusing on balance and strength. Students will expand on their dance vocabulary, evaluate live performance and evaluate dance history and culture. Students will be expected to write in this class by way of personal reflection, research reports and a Future Endeavors Project.

“Just believe in yourself because it doesn’t matter what level you are at I think if you really want something you’ll succeed.” said sophomore Sofia Sanchez.
