What would you say is the difficulty level of this class?

“It is a college level class. It is difficult, but achievable.” (James Fieberg, teacher)

“The class is definitely very difficult, but just like any other class it varies with what type of person you are and what type of subject you are good at. But, in general, I think it is a very difficult class.” (Chloe Carty, senior)

“I’d say it’s pretty hard. Fieberg teaches it at the same level as what would equal a five on the AP test, so that’s obviously something that’s pretty hard to do, but it really prepared us for the AP test.” (Makoa Bryson, senior)

What is the workload like?

“I would say to be successful in AP Physics, you need to put in roughly five hours a week outside of class.” (James Fieberg, teacher)

“The workload isn’t too bad. There’s not generally a lot of homework and there’s definitely not homework every night. Sometimes we do labs and then those would be due, but [Fieberg] gives us a good amount of time to do them, so we’re not overloaded with work, and sometimes we have…  reading and notes due. So, it’s not an immense workload.” (Chloe Carty, senior)

“It’s definitely a lot. [There’s] a lot of studying and you need to do the homework and make sure you understand every topic, and getting behind is kind of tough because then things build on each other and it makes it really hard to understand the rest of the subjects. Just making sure you know everything is really important, but a lot of the classroom labs help with that, so that makes it easier to understand.” (Makoa Bryson, senior)

Any tips for students looking to take this class?

“In the beginning of each chapter, read it thoroughly.” (Chloe Carty, senior)

“Don’t slack. If you start out with a bad grade in the beginning of the trimester, it’s really hard to bring up, so just make sure you are always doing your [best].”

Is there anything you would have done differently now that you have taken this course?

“In the beginning, our homework was to read the chapter and take notes, and for homework, I would read the chapter specifically to take notes. Then I wouldn’t really understand it; I wouldn’t take time to understand it. So I would spend more time comprehending the chapter rather than just reading it to get through notes.” (Chloe Carty, senior)

“I probably would have just made sure that I was doing things beforehand, because I know a lot of the time Fieberg tells us [we] have notes due in a few days and then I’d wait until the last minute to do it. Sometimes it takes a lot of time and it makes it so I’m not really fully understanding everything, so just get ahead of the game.” (Makoa Bryson, senior)

What kind of student should take this class/Why would a student want to take this class?

“Because it is awesome.” (James Fieberg, teacher)

What kind of careers could this class lead to?

“AP Physics could lead to any number of engineering careers or any number of science—specifically science-related careers.” (James Fieberg, senior)
