Monday, February 12th, the first day of tech week for Footloose. Waits has already spent hours
at rehearsals in the Drama room at Sage Creek High, noting the props needed for each scene, where they
would be, and what lighting would be best onstage.

After opening night of Footloose, the tech crew received a surprise when an old friend, Marcus
Montes, a past Sage Creek student who used to tech with Sage Creek Drama, came to see the show.
Additionally, Sage Creek graduates Samantha Bowen and Kat Parra, who led tech crew teams in years
past, were delighted to see how far Waits has come as stage manager. On the bench, left to right: Senior

From the tech booth behind the audience, Waits oversees light, spotlight, shift, and actor cues,
consulting his binder of notes and scene changes every couple minutes. Hours at Footloose rehearsals in
