Yearbook/Publication Journalism
Publication Journalism, aka Yearbook, is taught by Rachel Merino-Ott. According to the Publications Journalism syllabus, publications journalism students will work to master high-level critical thinking, reading and writing skills of print journalism, an introduction to the artistic, creative and aesthetic skills of the visual and graphic arts, writing and editing, reading and analyzing relevant literature, learning and practicing the basics of design and layout, analysis and evaluation of images based on a set of given values, learning communication, management, and evaluation skills, use of state-of-the-art word processing and design software, and demonstrating knowledge and understanding of ethical responsibilities and communications law.”I love how we’re all like a family… We get to be like the behind the scenes people.” said junior Sierra Jorden
