Disney Revamps California Adventure Park
Dec 5, 2017
Disneyland’s California Adventure Park is soon to include a Pixar Land. Many rides and roller coasters on Paradise Pier will close or be altered, starting Jan. 8th, to fit the new Pixar Land image.
Disney has big plans for the future of the park, most being additions planned to open in the summer of 2018.
“When Pixar Pier opens along the southern shore of Paradise Bay, with newly themed attractions, foods and merchandise throughout,” Disneyland Resort News stated, “This new, permanent land in the area that is now Paradise Pier will introduce four new neighborhoods representing beloved Disney·Pixar stories.”
The new additions to the park will have many different themed sections inside of the Pixar realm.
“The Incredicoaster will be a re-themed version of California Adventure’s original California Screamin’ ride,” Insider said, “[it] will be the focal point of ‘The Incredibles’-themed land opening at Pixar Pier.”
The alterations to the park will also include a Toy Story Land, which revolves around the already existing “Toy Story Mania” ride.
“Guests are ‘shrunk down’ to the size of a toy and encounter larger-than-life versions of their favorite toys and characters from the Pixar movie franchise,” Insider predicted.
The third addition to the park will be an Inside Out Land, which remains a bit of a mystery, although not a lot has been revealed about it
“Disney could have the park mimic the islands found in Riley’s brain,” Insider said.
The last change to the California Adventure park will be the boardwalk.
“The fourth area of Pixar Pier will be dedicated to boardwalk-style games devoted to all Pixar characters and franchises,” Insider stated.
Even though there are many new additions to the park, some components will have to leave to make room for the new lands.
“Pixar Pier will officially open in Summer 2018,” SlashFilms said, “To make way for the new Pixar-themed land, California Screamin’, Ariel’s Grotto restaurant and the Cove Bar, Mickey’s Fun Wheel, Games of the Boardwalk and Sideshow Shirts will close on Jan[.] 8.”
There are a lot of changes coming to Disney’s California Adventure park, but some things will stay the same.
“The remaining areas of Paradise Pier, including Paradise Gardens, Silly Symphony Swings, Jumpin’ Jellyfish, Goofy’s Sky School, Golden Zephyr and The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel’s Undersea Adventure, will become a new land called Paradise Park,” SlashFilms stated.
