For this year’s annual fall concert, choir, wind ensemble, and orchestra made their debut and performed at the 2017 Fall Concert. The students from this years music department performed a total of six songs for their fall theme.

After an introduction from the band teacher, Julianna Quinones, choir and wind ensemble began the show. Choir began with a strong vocal performance of “Double Trouble.”. Wind ensemble was up next,  performing “Unquiet Spirits” and immediately after, they performed one more piece, “Hocus Pocus”, which left the audience in a more festive spirit for Halloween.

Following a fifteen minute intermission, Orchestra was up next to perform their two pieces. Orchestra carried the Halloween spirits that wind ensemble started with a performance of “The Labyrinth and the Mad King.” This particular piece gave off a chilling feel that left goose bumps running down your arm and the music running through your mind. The orchestra students ended their performance with “Two Scene from the Hollow I. Ichabod’s Walk II. Hessian’s Ride” which encompassed the creepy Halloween vibe that the concert was trying to achieve.

Lastly, choir finished off the fall concert with a performance of “When October Goes (With Autumn Leaves)” leaving the audience breathless due to the haunting vocals.

Afterwards, Hansel Goh made a statement on how much effort the music department put into their fall concert.

“We started at the beginning of the school year after our band teacher chose out two [songs and] I would say it was successful, the crowd was there and so was the confidence,” Goh said.

Overall, the music department had a successful fall concert with powerful performances from all three departments.
