San Diego will be having a new sport: box lacrosse. Box lacrosse, also known as indoor lacrosse, is an indoor version of field lacrosse.

Coming next Nov., San Diego will have a professional men’s NLL (National Lacrosse League) team. While the team does not yet have a name, mascot, or team colors, fans of sports— especially lacrosse— are very excited.

The owner of the team, Joseph Tsai, played lacrosse in college and is now the vice chairman of Alibaba, an online retailer based in China.

Once the team is established and games start, tickets for the games will go on sale for about $25, which is much cheaper than an NFL game. With an average of 30 goals per game, this insures lots of action and excitement.

Box Lacrosse is a new sport to the San Diego area, and it will provide a new outlet for sports fans to show city pride.
