The long wait is finally over! The 2025-2026 NFL season is kicking off Sept. 4. The opening week is action packed, with matchups such as Ravens vs. Bills and Packers vs. Lions.
The start of every NFL season leaves fans with several questions. For some, it’s “are we going to the Super Bowl?” and for others it’s “are we going to win a game this year?”
When it comes to winning Super Bowls, a few teams are in the spotlight. The Chiefs, Eagles, Bills and Ravens are among the highest odds to win it all. But which team is really number one?
Well, it depends on what fans look at. On the one hand, the Chiefs have star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, deep threats like Xavier Worthy and a strong defense. Unfortunately, their top receiver Rashee Rice is expected to miss up to half the season per ESPN, due to off-the-field actions.
Additionally, as other star players like Chris Jones and Travis Kelce continue to age, the Chiefs chances at obtaining their fourth title in the last six years seem unlikely. However, as thousands of fans know, the Chiefs have a way of making the impossible happen. Whether that’s skill, luck or a little help from the refs, no one knows.
Another strong candidate for success this year is the Philadelphia Eagles. Fresh off a dominant Super Bowl win, the Eagles are looking to win back to back championships. Their 2025 roster is loaded with returning star power like Saquon Barkley, Jalen Hurts and AJ Brown.
Dominant seasons like the Eagles’ 2025 campaign, prove they have what it takes to compete at the highest level. However, peak statistical seasons are difficult to replicate both mentally and physically. This creates an adverse challenge for the Eagles in 2025, but only time will tell if they can overcome it.
Both the Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens are looking to bounce back this year after strong seasons that ended in heartbreak. For the Bills, they enter 2025 loaded with talented players including Josh Allen and James Cook with players like Ed Oloiver holding it down on the defensive end.
Unfortunately for the Bills, they have been unable to escape the Chiefs in the post season. Over the last three years, they have suffered three brutal losses at the hands of Kansas City.
But with a fan base like Bills Mafia and a team stacked with offense and defensive firepower, it’s hard to deny them a shot at glory.
The Baltimore Ravens are the curious case of a team that just can’t get the job done on the biggest stage. Whether it’s dropping a game-winning pass, or throwing a game losing interception, the Ravens always seem to choke it away in the final few seconds. However, with an MVP candidate like Lamar Jackson, the Ravens seem poised for another great season and potential Super Bowl run.
While it may be challenging to predict the best overall team, it is easy to assume that this season is going to be a great one. But for teams like the Giants, Titans and Panthers, fans should buckle up for a long ride.
Despite the dreams of many fans, not every team can make the Super Bowl. Luckily for those who are stuck watching a losing season, their remote has a button to switch to a different station.
