Plane Crash Rattles San Diego Neighborhood

A Cessna 550 flies through clear skies. This was the plane that crashed into the San Diego military neighborhood.

On the morning of May 22, a plane crashed in a San Diego neighborhood, resulting in the loss of all six passengers aboard the jet. Residents reported hearing a loud boom at impact. First responders made the scene within minutes to put out the fire and aid everyone on the ground.

carrying six people and hit military housing on the ground. The plane was on course for Montgomery Gibbs Airport from New Jersey. Everything was routine until the plane made contact with a power line, resulting in the plane crashing down, taking down a home, and damaging many others around it. The houses and nearby areas were evacuated to keep everyone safe from the damage.

Dave Shapiro, a prominent figure in the rock industry, unfortunately passed away in the impact of the crash. He was the co-founder of the Sound Talent music group. A popular drummer from The Devil Wears Prada rock band, Daniel Williams, also sadly died in the crash.
