On Thursday, May 1, track and field had their last meet against Carlsbad at Sage. This meet had many impressive results.
Long distance ran strongly at this meet. In the 1600, Ryan Romero, 11th grade, ran 4:28.22, and Aliyah Acosta, 10th grade, ran 5:37.09. These are both strong times in this category. Josiah Bowman, 11th grade, ran 1:50.39 in the 800, and Chloe Barrett, 10th grade, ran 2:26.91. This was a good time for both runners. In the 3200, Colton Gillespie ran 10:05.56 and Kaylin Cai ran 13:33.59, which is a fast time for both.

The sprinters performed at a high level as well, with Dane Nail, 12th grade, running 51.48 and Michela Miracco, 12th grade, running 59.52 in the 400. In the 100, Jack Mullen, 12th grade, ran a time of 10.83, and Leah Miller, 10th grade, got 12.65. Jack Mullen also got 21.59 in the 200, and Ashley Garcia, 10th grade, ran 26.23.
Sage did strongly on throwing, with Michael Gergurich, 11th grade, throwing 36′ 6″ and Mairead Frankel, 12th grade, throwing 37′ 6″ in shot put. Michael Gergurich got 118′ 8″ and Mairead Frankel got 148′ 3″ for the discus, which were good results for both of them.
For jumps, Mason Sandefer, 11th grade, jumped 5′ 6″, and both Roisin Franke, 10th grade,l and Carys Guckenberger, 10th grade, jumped 5′ 3″ for the high jump. Cheng Jin, 12th grade, went 18′ 6.5″ for the long jump and Roisin Frankel went 15′ 7.5″. For the triple jump, Cheng Jin went 38′ 8.5″ and Carys Guckenberger went 31′ 10″.
Although Carlsbad came out on top, Sage did extremely well, with many improvements and great results.
