In a shocking turn of events, pop icon Taylor Swift recently announced that her next album will dive into sounds inspired by death metal and other alternative genres. Her upcoming tour will feature collaborations with bands such as Morbid Angel, Behemoth and Vader.

“I’ve always wanted to explore my dark side,” Swift told Decibel Magazine in an interview.

Taylor Swift’s fans, known as “Swifties,” expressed their excitement.

“I have never been a fan of metal, but I know Taylor will sound great in any genre,” said Madeline Jones, a long-time fan of Taylor Swift. 

Swift recently debuted her new look featuring long black hair, white foundation and heavy eyeliner. Her outfits include leather corsets, Doc Martens and chains – all in black.

Swift has shared teasers on her social media accounts, posting a clip from her new single – a cover of the Diamond Head classic – titled “Am I Evil? (Taylor’s Version).” 

Swift captioned the Instagram post “I think this song really captures the essence of who I am as an artist in 2025!”
