The Chief’s journey to NFL supremacy began in the 2020 season with a 31-20 Super Bowl win over the 49ers. In 2023 they defeated the Eagles 38-35 to complete another phenomenal season.
Unfortunately for 49ers fans, the Chiefs sent them home again in the 2024 Super Bowl 25-22. If we look at big games regardless of wins or losses, the Chiefs have appeared in four Super Bowls and five AFC Championship games in the last five years.
This success has left a bad taste in the mouths of NFL fans. Spectators cite the referees as a key contributor to Kansas City’s success. Chiefs fans deny this, claiming critics are just disgruntled, but it might be true.
In the Chiefs’ 11 playoff games since 2021, they have had fewer penalties than their opponent every time. In comparison, the Buffalo Bills have only had fewer penalties than their opponents in three of eight playoff games.

The Eagles’ air attack was just as impressive. During the regular season, the Eagles had the No. 7 ranked offense in the NFL. Their quarterback, Jalen Hurts, led the way with 18 passing touchdowns and only six interceptions.
On the other hand, the Chiefs’ offense was ranked No. 15 during the season. This goes to show that not everything is about stats. Star players like Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce can compensate for a lack of offensive production.
