The 2024 MLB postseason is underway. From the rivalry series between the Padres and Dodgers, the red-hot Tigers and if the Yankees can break out of the postseason losing cycle, it is not one to miss.
Postseason Overview:
NLDS Series 1: Padres vs. Dodgers. The Padres and Dodgers series is said to be the most competitive series of the four going on. The rolling Padres were 14-6 in their last 20 regular season games and are looking to dethrone the Dodgers, who hold the best record in the MLB. Look out for the rivalry as this series could get heated between the teams and the fans.
NLDS Series 2: Mets vs. Phillies. The Mets finished the year as one of the hottest teams in baseball after a brutal start to the season. They take on the powerhouse of the NL East, the Philadelphia Phillies. During this series, we will see some great pitching matchups along with some great offense. This postseason for the Phillies is supposed to answer the big question: can they compete after spending big?
ALDS Series 1: Guardians vs. Tigers. The Tigers made a surprise appearance in the postseason with only a 6% chance to make it coming out of the All-Star break. They’re red-hot, so definitely don’t sleep on the Tigers. On the other hand, the Guardians were one of the most consistent teams in the MLB all season. Very good overall team with great offense and pitching.
ALDS Series 2: Yankees vs. Royals. Possibly the most exciting series in the postseason sees both teams with some of the biggest stars of the game like Bobby Witt Jr. of the Royals plus Aaron Judge and Juan Soto for the Yankees. Expect to see some great pitching during this series along with some home runs too.
Predictions:
NL League Winner: Padres. The Padres have been contenders for several years now, and this is the year they have a true chance of going all the way. Their pitching has almost been unhittable with Micheal King and All-Star reliever Tanner Scott. You also can’t forget the faces of the game with Fernando Tatis Jr. and Manny Machado. We also think the fans play a huge part here as the Padres fans show up making it a very difficult place to play.
AL League Winner: Guardians. The Guardians were one of the most consistent teams this season, finishing with a 92-69 record. They might not have the most exciting players to watch but that does not mean they aren’t good. Owning arguably the most underrated plates in the MLB with Jose Ramirez can help them push their offense over the top to send them to the World Series. You also cannot forget their pitching having one of the best rotations in the league despite losing their ace Shane Beiber finishing the season with a 3.61 team ERA. We see them going all the way.
