1. Legoland

First on the list is Legoland with a minimum wage of $17/hr. This exciting amusement park is located in the touristy area of Carlsbad near the Flower Fields and the Museum of Making Music. Legoland has numerous job options such as merchandise cashier, costume character for the holidays and ride management. 

2. Chick-fil-A

Chick-fil-A is a fast-food restaurant located in Oceanside near Walmart and at Avenida Encinas in Carlsbad near In-N-Out and the Windmill. This restaurant has positions such as a team member who assembles and provides delicious meals to customers. The only requirement needed is a smile and a positive attitude. Plus, workers get Sundays off!

3. Dick’s Sporting Goods

If students are interested in athletic wear and sports equipment, Dick’s Sporting Goods might be a good option. One must be able to provide for customers whenever help is needed, whether finding a pair of shoes or directing people to the right aisle. There are multiple stores that are located in Oceanside and Encinitas. 

4. Bath and Body Works 

Bath and Body Works might be a wonderful fit for those who love perfume and season-scented candles. Helping customers find the perfect fragrance and having an overall positive attitude is a requirement for this job. Starting at around $17/hr, a Retail Seasonal Sales Associate lets you have a flexible schedule and discounts at the store. Locations vary from the Shoppes at Carlsbad and La Costa. 

5. Spirit Halloween

Love October and the spooky season? Spirit Halloween is a part-time job that is in a fun environment and is open for around 3 months. Providing useful and persuasive information about costumes and decorations to customers is highly important. This is a seasonal job, which means that it won’t be here year-long, making this a good option for students. Spirit Halloween is located in Carlsbad and Oceanside. 

6. Babysitting

Want to spend time with children while getting paid? Babysitting is a good option for those who want a fun, paying job. Most of the time, the schedule of a babysitter is open and lets the student decide when to work. Some parents may pay up to $21/hr or more depending on the hours and amount of kids. Advertising the services around the neighborhood or on social media is helpful when looking for a family to babysit for. 

Regardless of work experience, high school students have many opportunities to find the perfect job suitable for them. Many stores and restaurants are accommodating to their needs and flexible with work hours which is extremely important for managing time with school, sports and other activities.
