Singing their way onto the stage is the cast of the Sage Creek Drama Department’s third annual winter musical, Bye-Bye-Birdie. The cast list was posted on the Sage Creek Drama website after school Friday November 4, and included a mix of both veteran and new performers.

Audition week began Monday Oct. 31 and ran until Friday Nov. 4. Callback auditions were then held on November 3 and 4.

The judging panel consisted of theatre teacher and show director Jillian Porter, technical director Court Thompson, vocal director and English teacher Sarah Hunter, dance teacher Katie Chrisman, orchestral director Juliana Quinones, and senior assistant student directors McKenna Foote and Elena Trask.

“I’ve never laughed so much through an audition or callback series,” Porter commented on the auditions, “The play is hilarious and the talent at this school keeps getting better and better.”

Introduced on the cast list are seniors Gus Escobosa as Conrad Birdie, Fabiola Sanchez as Rose Alvarez, Sam Bodnar as Albert Peterson, and Miranda Colvin as Kim MacAfee. For the full cast list, visit the Sage Creek Drama page on School Loop or follow this link.

“We are thrilled (and sentimental) about seeing our fantastic seniors off with this classic show.” Porter said. “The seniors started this drama program and Bye Bye Birdie will celebrate their success!”
