What comes to mind when you think about life? Questions such as, “What is the meaning of life?” “What am I meant to do in life?” These questions will eventually be answered as we go through the different stages and experiences in our own personal lives. However, these same questions will remain forever unanswered for the 1 million aborted babies every year and the 63 million in the U.S since the Roe v. Wade decision.

 These are the most innocent of all lives who will never get to see the light of day or reach their full potential, and the saddest part is that they’re aborted by their own mothers.

We all know one of the “greatest love stories of all time,” the movie Titanic. The emotional theme song, “My Heart Will Go On” is sung by Céline Dion. However, would Titanic be the same without that tear-jerker of a song? How about the movie “The Shining?” Would this movie be as scary if the lead role was not given to Jack Nicholson? These celebrities that we all know and admire were almost never here. Both of their mothers were seriously considering and thankfully talked out of going through with an abortion. 

Tim Tebow, a quarterback for the Denver Broncos and New York Jets who has also played in three NFL seasons, has gained respect by respecting the most defenseless of all lives. When his mother ran into complications with her pregnancy, the doctors suggested an abortion to save her life. She trusted in God and refused to abort her baby and both survived.

 Justin Bieber, a young musician, also voices his support for honoring and representing life. His mother turned to a crisis center for support instead of ‘terminating’ Bieber.  Jessie Jackson, a civil rights activist born out of wedlock, was another survivor of abortion, and would not have been one of the key components in the fight for equal rights for African Americans if his mother would have gone along with her original plan and aborted him.  

In similarity, congratulations! Everyone who is reading this article now had mothers who chose to give us life! You may be wondering what a 16-year-old has to say about the rights of the unborn. I have plenty to say but before you turn away, if this article can teach and save one life now or in the future, I have fulfilled my purpose.

Since 1848, women have been fighting publicly for equal rights such as the right to vote, equal pay and equal employment conditions. Nowadays, these reasons have all been pushed aside and abortion, the so-called “woman’s health issue” and “woman’s choice” has taken over the fight.

Roe v.s Wade was a legal decision issued on January 22, 1973, by the Supreme Court. This decision legalized abortion across the United States. The court argued that abortion was tied to the right to privacy protected by the Fourteenth Amendment.

On May 2, 2022, a draft written by Justice Samuel Alito of the Supreme Court and agreed upon by justices Amy Coney Barrett, Neil Gorsuch, Clarence Thomas and Brett Kavanaugh, was leaked for the whole nation to see and witness the possible overturn of Roe v.s Wade. 

Justice Alito said  Roe v.s Wade was “egregiously wrong from the start” and that its reasoning was “exceptionally weak, and that the decision has had damaging consequences.” He added, “It is time to heed the constitution and return the issue of abortion to the people’s representatives.” 

Judge John Roberts is appalled that this leak happened. However, on Fox News, he assures that this draft would not change the judges’ final decisions. 

“A leak of this stature is absolutely appalling,” Roberts said. “If the person behind it thinks that it will affect our work, that’s just foolish.”

Abortion activists claim that abortion is a constitutional right, however, The Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) mentioned in the draft, “the Constitution makes no reference to abortion and no such right is implicitly protected by any constitutional provision,” SCOTUS said. “That provision has been held to guarantee some rights that are not mentioned in the Constitution, but any such right must be ‘deeply rooted in this Nation’s history and tradition’ and ‘implicit in the concept of ordered liberty.’”

Never in the history of the United States Supreme Court has there ever been a leak. There’s much speculation on who leaked the document, (a liberal clerk or justice?) in hopes that riots, protests and vandalizations will change the judges’ minds.

However, for others, the timing couldn’t have been better because “abortion is the most significant human rights abuse of our time,” stated by the March For Life Fund.

When is it ever okay to murder someone? The answer is never. Society has corrupted the moral belief that a pregnant mom is not carrying a child but a clump of cells and if it is not in the right timing for the mother, they can go to a Planned Parenthood clinic and have the pregnancy ‘terminated.’ 

What’s the difference between murder and termination in this context? The answer is nothing.

Abortions usually happen in the early stages of pregnancy however states such as California, Colorado, Hawaii and New York to name a few allow murders (oops) I meant abortions until nine months of pregnancy or in some cases the baby is born and even after. Life ultimately begins at conception with the babies’ similar but separate DNA and blood type from the parents, the separate heartbeat of the child that can be heard from 5-6 weeks and most importantly their own individual human soul.

Why is there such a call to end a child’s life? What drives these pro-choice supporters to be so adamant about not just ‘terminating the pregnancy,’ but killing their babies in the process? Whether it’s population control, used as birth control, or simply the killing to pursue your “life’s aspirations.” it has driven people to madness and is at the core of the moral divide we have today.

Pro-choice advocators have vandalized numerous pro-life organizations and women’s centers whose main job is to support women in crisis and in times of need who have no where else to turn. Destroying these centers proves that this misguided agenda is based on corrupt and immoral beliefs and their main goal is to destroy, not help.

Make no mistake, pro-life advocates are very much concerned with women’s rights. Including the rights of the women in the womb. Take into consideration that this is no longer an “earthly battle” but a spiritual battle, a battle of right and wrong, what is good and what is evil. 

Ex-First Lady of the United States, Hillary Clinton, on Feb.3 1994 asked the canonized nun Mother Teresa, “Why do you think we haven’t had a woman as president yet?” Mother Teresa responded, “Because she has probably been aborted.”

The people who defend the right of “choice” are defending murder and are either ignorant to the subject and/or go with the flow. It is time to defend the unborn voices that can not defend themselves rather than rid them of society. You may be thinking, it is “your right,” but what about the rights of the aborted women? In the end, all lives matter, especially the most vulnerable of all, the lives of the unborn.

Many states like Arizona and Michigan, as well as others, have pre-existing laws enforcing abortion bans before Roe v. Wade was in effect. These laws are not enforced as the federal case of Roe v. Wade overrides any state laws regarding abortion. With a semi-new leak from the Supreme Court, there are talks about the overturn of Roe v. Wade, and the enforcement in many states of safe and legal abortions.

There has been a lot of clashing for and against these laws, and support from democrats in office and in the House of Representatives as well as the Senate to push for midterm electing people who can keep this law in place. Liberation News adds to this by saying how “Despite enjoying control of the Senate, the House of Representatives and the presidency, the Democrats have used this moment to claim that the only way to save Roe is by voting for them in the midterm election in November.” 

People, mainly right-leaning, have a sudden need to “regulate” the “anti-murder” laws by forcing women to have unsafe abortions and pushing for women who want to have abortions through term, even if it causes harm for the mother. 

The idea from right-leaning politicians and community leaders is the idea that ‘pro-life’ laws, in effect are saving children and mothers, and pushing for anti-democrat murder. None of that could be further from the truth. 

Anti-abortion laws are not allowing for no abortions to happen in the country, only safe and legal ones. It should be a discussion of the autonomy and safety of mothers, not a discussion of making sure that cells who cannot even think are free from the political nightmare of the right caring about so-called murder.

In the news soon after the leaks were released, many officials and news outlets were quick to fire the blame on the newly elected Ketanji Brown Jackson, an Associate Justice of the US Supreme Court. MSNBC mentioned in their article on the racism in the news, how “Greg Stinchfield, a host on the far-right network Newsmax, floated his ingenious theory that Jackson — who hasn’t even been seated on the Supreme Court yet — was responsible for leaking the court’s apparent decision to overturn Roe v. Wade”. It is a disgusting remark from right-leaning politicians, and more evidence of their racist history and ideologies to pin her, the first black woman on the Supreme Court as the leaker who MSNBC says ‘hasn’t even been seated.”

Fox News adds how they think the leak is bigger than the actual case of overturning Roe v Wade.  The entire politicization of morality is becoming more frequent in the news and media as well, with other cases regarding gun violence or immigration.

But disregarding the politics of abortion, the immoral decision to let women and children who have been raped, abused or even women who don’t want children, have to carry them to term and put them through an immense amount of debt, trauma and, now, a moral decision whether to put children up for adoption or raise a child they do not want. 

If this is the case even, the right is immensely in opposition to supporting these children they believe are worth more than the trauma and pain of the mothers. Recent politicians “who voted against providing $28 million in aid to the Food and Drug Administration to address the shortage of baby formula.” In a country in recession, trying to climb out we have politicians, all 192 who voted against that were republican, pushing to not even be able to support the babies and children they so desperately want to be birthed. 

These laws, as well as the immoral decision to take away bodily autonomy from women, is a way to suppress those who are not able to support their own, as well as another human being, a way to traumatize and put more people in debt, which minorities including Hispanic, African-American and Asian mothers are having higher birth rates than ‘non-hispanic whites’ while only slightly, are being unsupported by politicians as well. 

The right and pro-life ideologists are supposed ‘moral’ people, who are caring for the life of the clump of cells not even able to think breathe or live on their own, as literal parts of their mother, disregard the lives at stake. The anti-humanitarian policies deny aid to the FDA for baby formula shortage or lack of care for mother-mortality rates which are highest in Black and Native/Alaskan American women according to the CDC. 

Pro-life supporters are directly anti-life, it seems. Not being able to support mortality rates in pregnancy, not being able to support caring for children or making sure that children put for adoption are supported with their lack of care for the adoption system and the lack of care for mothers and those affected by this. Children and minors being raped, having to carry children to term, traumatizing them. This is not a pro-life debate, this is a debate of morality which right-leaning politicians and citizens seem to have a lack of. 

The Administration for Children and Families (ACF) accounts for 83.1 billion dollars, out of the 2.59 trillion dollars given to the Department of Health and Human Services, which oversees the ACF program. That is 3.2% of the budget spent on the ACF program alone, and only 12% of that is spent on Foster Care and Permanency. As well as 13% of the 83.1 billion dollars spent on the Child Care and Development Fund. 

Both of these programs add up to 20.1 million dollars, nationally, for child care and foster care programs. It seems like a lot, but across 600,000 average children in foster care, upkeep for facilities and paperwork and employees, 20 million dollars is not much. The SCHS campus was built using grants and other aids to the district of around 250 million dollars, for perspective. 

Especially when there are other US departments and facilities that are being over-funded in a sense, like in the Department of Health of Human Services, which spends 519 billion dollars on grants to states alone, which states have a tendency to be very discreet and not spend their money on what they say they will.

All of this is to sum up and say that with a lack of morality in pro-life debates, even being in support of it there is a lack of resources and help to support these children. It is not a decision of life vs death but a decision of humanity and making sure that the victims of rape and women who wish to not be pregnant are able to choose their life and what happens with their bodies, in a system that is against them and does not support them at all.
