In August of 2020, Epic rolled out an unauthorized patch to the mobile version of its wildly popular game Fortnite on the iOS App Store. This patch would become the subject of a legal battle between the two tech giants Apple, Inc. and Epic Games. This legal battle may have implications for how we consume and download apps in the future.
