Name:  Anastasia Schmoll

Age: 55

Period of Service: 1984-1988

Branch: Marine Core

Occupation: Signal Intelligence to Diesal Mechanic

Deployment Locations: Parris Island

What made you join the military?

“I’m a patriot,” said Schmoll.

Schmoll believes she has the duty to protect her country, and even out of the military, she will continue to protect her country.

What impact has your service had on you?

Schmoll feels that she will choose the unpopular route if it means following her morals. She will do what is right, and always choose what is right.

What is your best memory, or most memorable experience while serving?

When receiving the wrong parts during her time as a diesel mechanic, instead of returning them and the company making no money off of them, she would keep the parts that were wrong to lose in later engineering projects. This ended up saving the government thousands of dollars and Schmoll was very proud of this accomplishment.
