Bears at the Rams
After their win against the Lions, the Bears (4-5) had hoped to defeat the Rams (5-4) in Los Angeles. The Rams hoped to exploit the Bears weak offense and win this home game. The Bears started the first quarter with a field goal attempt that kicker Eddie Piñero missed. The Bears’ defense dominated the first quarter forcing the Rams to turnover the ball twice however Eddie Piñero missed another field goal attempt. The first quarter concluded 0-0. Rams kicker Greg Zuerlein made a thirty-eight yard field goal, giving the Rams a 3-0 lead early in the second quarter. The Rams managed to score a touchdown with three minutes and twenty-eight seconds left in the second quarter. The Bears were unable to make an effective comeback and the first half concluded with the Rams up 10-0.
The third quarter started slow but Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky found Tarik Cohen in the endzone for the Bears first and only touchdown after an eighty yard drive. The Rams were unable to score any points the rest of the third quarter. The Bears entered the fourth quarter down by only three points. The Rams scored another touchdown late in the fourth quarter with under four minutes left in the game. After the Rams touchdown Bears backup quarterback Chase Daniel took the field with the Rams up 17-7. Despite the Bears’ best efforts, the Rams prevailed and defeated the Bears 17-7. The Rams are now (6-4) and the Bears are (4-6).
