Coraline
“Coraline” is a perfect mix of creepiness with charm for the whole family. The film has many beauties to it, though is overcome by a certain darkness that makes for a gloomy, frightening adventure.

Coraline discovers a secret door in the new house her family has, and finds that it leads somewhere. When Coraline arrives at the other side, she’s greeted by her family, her ideal family. This world she’s in is just like her own, but seemingly perfect and magical.
When Coraline discovers a hidden door that leads to a parallel dimension of a perfect life, she’s delighted towards her new world—until her dream family tries to keep her in that world forever, turning everything into a nightmare. Apart from the horror-like stop motion that imitates that of haunted dolls, “Coraline” includes emotional scenes with the heartbreaking possibility of Coraline never making it back to her real, loving parents. The film makes for a wonderful balance of fright, beauty, heartbreak, and appreciation for your family, which ultimately makes it a wonderful choice to watch together with your loved ones this Halloween.
