D.A.V. Oceanside

624 S Coast Highway in Oceanside

The D.A.V., also known as the Disabled American Veterans thrift store, is the largest thrift store of all the ones I visited. The D.A.V. offers large discounts for veterans, especially around holidays. The store provides all types of items including, but not limited to, clothes, books, CD’s, movies, furniture and electronics. It’s almost guaranteed you’ll be able to find what you need there. Since the store is so large, it may feel overwhelming when you first enter, but to help with navigation, the store has put up large signs above each section labeling where everything is. Due to the store’s size, it is often very messy and picked through, but unlike Goodwill, it is easy to look through racks and quickly spot something you’ll like. All items at the D.A.V. are individually priced but still low. Women and men’s shirts average around $6 to $7 and jeans average anywhere from $6 to $10. Shoes are priced individually based on the wear and tear of each pair. Overall, I enjoy the D.A.V. a lot due to how much is offered in the store. With easy to style clothes and lots of vintage finds such as CD’s, tapes, movies, antique-looking furniture and house decor, you can always find what you’re looking for. Even if on the rare occasion you do not, you’ll still enjoy looking at all the interesting items this store has to offer.
