The force is strong this week for Star Wars fans. On Monday, the title for the next installment in the Star Wars franchise was officially revealed to be Star Wars: The Last Jedi. The film is set to be released on December 15th and is being written and directed by Rian Johnson. Here’s what we know about the next film in the Star Wars saga.
- Luke Skywalker Will Have A Bigger Appearance
In The Force Awakens, Luke Skywalker had a brief cameo appearance with Rey at the very end of the film. The cameo was meant to be a setup for the next film as well as a cliffhanger. In The Last Jedi, he will be one of the main characters and have huge importance to the story.
- The Film Will Focused More On The Skywalkers
With the announcement of The Last Jedi title, Rian Johnson also states that the film will be focused more on characters like Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia. He stated the following: “It’s official. Star Wars: The Last Jedi is the next chapter of the Skywalker saga.”
- Princess Leia Will Return In The Last Jedi
Rian Johnson recently confirmed that Carrie Fisher finished all of her scenes for The Last Jedi. Even though she unfortunately has passed away, the audience will still get to see Princess Leia. Lucasfilm also confirmed that there will be no CGI Carrie Fisher in the next upcoming films. In other words, this will be the very last time we see the lovely Princess Leia in the Star Wars saga.
- A Trailer Is Coming Very Soon
Usually with the announcement of Star Wars titles, a trailer usually drops online the following week. When The Force Awakens released their film title, the first trailer dropped the following week on YouTube. So if you are still waiting for a trailer to be released, you might not have to wait much longer.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi is officially done with filming and is heading into post-production. There isn’t a lot of information about the film right now due to how secretive Disney and Lucasfilm are being with the production of this film. First of all, this is click bait. No where does it speak of “golden age”. Plus the article just states basic facts that everyone knows and can deduce by common sense. Of course it is going to focus on Luke as he is “The Last Jedi”(though it can be seen as a few Jedi or one solitary survivor”. The article never answers the question; what is golden age? and how did it end? If anything Star Wars has been in a renaissance. This article is possibly the click batiest thing I have ever experienced on the website.
