Local Valentine’s Day Events this February

As Valentine’s Day comes closer to arriving it’s hard to find the perfect way to spend the day with you and your loved ones. If you don’t feel like staying inside and getting cozy on the couch or going to the same old fancy dinner that you went to last year, what will you do? Here are a few events to consider attending.

Valentine’s Super Love Jam

The Valentine’s Super Love Jam will be held at the Pechanga Arena in San Diego on February 12. The concert will feature Zapp, The Intruders, Heatwave, Midnight Star, The Manhattans, Notations, Rose Royce, G.Q., Tierra and Bloodstone. The performances will begin at 7:30 p.m., however, the doors will open at 6:30 p.m. 

To attend the event, guests of all ages must display proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test. Masks must be worn the entire time the concert is occurring. Tickets will cost anywhere from $29.50 to $125 based on where the guests are seated in the arena. 

Parking will also cost an additional $25 and an additional $50 for limos and RVs. Preferred parking is limited and will cost $80 or $160 for limos and RVs. You can buy tickets and parking here.

Galentine’s Day

The Galentine’s Day event will be on February 13 at Moonlight Beach in Encinitas. Tickets will cost $55 a person and include a 75-minute yoga session, some breath work, sound healing, yoga nidra, and a picnic on the beach. There will be charcuterie boards with an array of meats, cheeses, breads, fruits, water, and even some vegan options. 

This is the first year for the brand new Galentine’s day event. Owner of Yoga in Beautiful Places, Katie Rose, believes that the Galentine’s event will provide guests with some long-lost connection. 

“The purpose is to offer some space for people to cultivate self-love, empowerment and friendship,” Rose said. 

Valentine’s Eve Concert

Hosted by Yiddishland, the Valentine’s Eve Concert will be held on February 13th at 1128, Wall St. La Jolla CA 92037. The concert will begin at 5:30 p.m. and will last until every guest has left. Tickets will cost $40 for general admission, $36 for early admission and $20 for guests who wish to attend on Zoom. 

Performing at the concert will be Carla Berg, a singer known for performing in different languages.

 “We’ll have love songs in Yiddish, Hebrew and Spanish and then have a reception,” the President of Yiddishland, Jana Mazurkiewicz said.

Valentine’s Dinner Cruises

Flagship Cruises and Events will be holding an elegant Valentine’s Day cruise on February 14. This cruise is called the “Sweetheart’s Dinner Cruise” and boarding will take place at 6:00 p.m. The cruise lasts for three hours and includes a three-course meal with both vegetarian and vegan options, DJ entertainment and beautiful views of San Diego bay. 

The cruise costs $94.50. To ensure each guests’ safety each group will be seated at their own private table, masks will be worn by the staff and by the guests when they are not actively eating or drinking and the cruise has a limited capacity to provide social distancing.
