Although everyone may not be able to properly celebrate Halloween this year, that doesn’t mean that no one can’t enjoy tasty foods! So get ready to bake some fun Halloween snacks to enjoy during the spooky season with these delicious recipes.

A colorful rice crispy treat to enjoy with friends and family this Halloween. This snack is delicious and simple to bake, and will undoubtedly get you hooked on making it. ((Photo Taken from the Food Network))

This colorful recipe for rice crispy treats calls for:

Nonstick cooking spray

Two 12-ounce bags of marshmallows

Six tablespoons of unsalted butter, cut into tablespoons

Green food dye

Purple food dye

Nine cups of crispy rice cereal

1/2 cup of semisweet chocolate chips

Half chocolate-covered peanuts or black or orange jelly beans, for decorating

Start by lining a 9” by 13” baking dish with foil and spray some cooking spray over it. Melt 1 ½ bags of marshmallows divided evenly between two bowls in the microwave, along with the butter. Microwave one bowl for 45 seconds, stir well, and microwave for 30 more seconds. Add green food dye and mix in 4 ½ cups of the cereal. Repeat with the other bowl but substitute green food dye with purple dye.

Next, cover hands with disposable gloves if desired. Subsequently, dobble blobs of each mixture onto the prepared pan. Once all the mixture is used, press it into the pan and smooth out the top. Now, let it sit and cool for one hour.

Put the remaining half-bag of marshmallows into the microwave for 45 seconds, stir and microwave for 30 more seconds. Set aside until the mix is cool enough to touch. Put gloves on again and grab handfuls of the mix to drape over the pan to create a web-like pattern.

Lastly, melt the chocolate chips in the microwave at 50% power in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until completely melted. Transfer the chocolate into a piping bag (or a regular Ziplock bag with the corner cut serving as a nozzle). Pipe out eight spider legs onto the treats and add a piece of chocolate, a peanut or jellybean as the body.

Now these delicious Halloween rice crispy treats are ready to be enjoyed!

Let’s cook deviled eggs! Ingredients needed are:

12 hard-boiled eggs, unpeeled

Six tbsp. Of mayonnaise

Six drops of blue food dye

Three drops of green food dye

Two tsp. Of white vinegar

Two tsp. of yellow mustard

Salt

Black sesame seeds (optional)

Start by gently cracking the shells of the hard-boiled eggs but do not remove the shell. Mix blue food dye and water into a bowl. The ratio is dependent on the color potency. If preferred to be a lighter color, use more water. If preferred to be a darker color, use less water. Put the cracked eggs in the water and refrigerate them for at least two hours. Afterward, remove the eggshells to reveal a dark, cracked look on them.

Cut the eggs in half, vertically, and scoop out the yolk to transfer to a bowl. Set the whites aside. Mash all the yolks with the mayonnaise, mustard, green food coloring and vinegar. Pipe the yolk mixture into the egg whites. Use a pipette or cut the corner of a Ziplock bag as the nozzle. To top this off, season with salt and sesame seeds.

Now, everyone who’s celebrating can enjoy a healthy and festive snack!

The next recipe dabbles more on the sweet side. For this recipe to make popcorn treats, it’s necessary to have:

This recipe for sweet popcorn is so simple and fun to make. Topping traditional popcorn, this recipe is perfect to serve on Halloween. ((Photo taken from the Food Network))

Vegetable cooking spray

Three tablespoons of vegetable oil

⅓ cup of popcorn kernels

Three tablespoons of butter

One teaspoon of pure vanilla extract

Six cups of mini marshmallows

Six fun-size caramel peanut chocolate bars cut into ¼ inch pieces

Three (3-inch) chocolate chip cookies, crumbled

⅓ cup of chopped salted almonds,

½ cup of orange and black chocolate candies.

Begin by spraying the inside of a large mixing bowl with vegetable cooking spray and set aside a baking sheet. Take a 3-quart or larger heavy-bottomed pan and heat the oil and popcorn over medium-high heat. Cover the pan and shake it gently. Cook until all the kernels have popped (estimated to take about 3 minutes). Place the popped popcorn in the prepared bowl.

Heat the butter in a medium saucepan over low heat. Mix the vanilla extract and marshmallows in. Stir until it’s melted and smooth (about 5 minutes). Mix into the bowl of popcorn. Coat the popcorn with a spatula (sprayed with cooking spray) until all popcorn is coated. Spread the mixture over the cooking sheet.

Sprinkle pieces of the chocolate bars (such as Snickers, Twix, etc.) over the mix. Optionally, add cookie pieces, almonds, and chocolate candies (like M&Ms) as well. Break this into as many pieces as desired.

This tasty treat is sure to have anybody hooked!
