Who’s Running for Freshman Class Council?

There are two nominees for president.

Leo Ambrogelly (president)

  1. What made you want to participate in the Freshman Council?

Well, it’s something I have always wanted to do and in middle school and elementary school there [were] these kids running for ASB and I just never really had time, and now that I’m in high school I kind of have time now. I’m invested in seeing our freshman community grow and become better and stronger together. So that’s why I’m running

  1. What changed improvements would you hope to implement if elected?

I really like the campus already, every single day even when I’m having a tough time in whatever it is I walk out and I’m like, “Yeah it’s a nice campus we have three separate buildings, I like walking up and down the stairs, and it’s like everyone is super nice.” So what I mainly want to see is us improve us as a group for us to more bond with each other, so when you walk through the halls and you know everyone there, I can vouch that that is the greatest feeling in the world. There’s 450 of [us freshman]and there are people like Dan the campus supervisor that [are] so welcoming and it’s amazing to just walk through the [halls] and be like, “Hey, I know you” or “Hey, what’s up man?”

  1. What makes you different from the other candidates running?

Well, this is difficult because I know a lot of the other candidates perfectly, and I could never say a bad thing about them. I love them all, but I can vouch for my own work ethic, and I put effort into everything I do, and I have a vision for everything I want to do with this office and this position.

Faith Klein (president)

  1. What made you want to participate in the Freshman Council?

I was always president of stuff in elementary school, and I liked being able to change what I didn’t like about the school and make a difference, so I figured why not?

  1. What changed improvements would you hope to implement if elected?

Honestly, Sage Creek is already pretty awesome, like go bobbies! I don’t really think anything needs to be changed, but I’m always open to suggestions if anybody else thinks there is anything that needs to be changed.

  1. What makes you different from the other candidates running?

I’m really active in all of Sage Creek’s extracurriculars, I do tennis, I’m in robotics and I’m signing up for CSF (California Scholarship Federation). I’m in a lot of stuff and I’m really dedicated, last year I was on Science Olympiad and it was held here, so I already know the campus, so it seems like it would work.

There are two nominees for vice president.

Luna Del Rio (vice president)

  1. What made you want to participate in the Freshman Council?

I think it would be a super fun opportunity to get involved in school and to just get some of my ideas to the table.

  1. What changed improvements would you hope to implement if elected?

I mean I love it here, [I want to] just to make this year a great transition from middle school for all of us freshman.

  1. What makes you different from the other candidates running?

I’m super involved in school, I do tennis and drama and I joined various clubs.

Capri Suarez (vice president)

  1. What made you want to participate in the Freshman Council?

I wanted to make a difference at Sage and leave a footprint as a leader.

  1. What changed improvements would you hope to implement if elected?

I want to make more spirit days and have a fundraiser to support freshman class.

  1. What makes you different from the other candidates running?

I think I’m qualified because I’m on the Carlsbad Leadership Council which is for high school students who want to be a leader. I’m very organized and I like to do stuff like this, so I think I’m qualified.

All you do is fundraise as class counsel, there is no leadership because you don’t lead anyone. Someone stop lying to these kids, just tell them the truth that it just looks good for college applications.
