The new DJI Mavic, smart, portable, and compact

The drone industry has grown by 224 percent in the past year, and is becoming more and more prominent in today’s world of content creation. Perhaps because of the ease of flight, or because they offer a fresh aerial perspective, drones today are becoming more accessible to the public.

The DJI Phantom 4 Drone is one well known drone model that many have praised in online reviews, but DJI Mavic is a new DJI drone, that is compact and might even surpass the Phantom 4. The Phantom 4 has front facing sensors and live tracking. Phantom 4 also has the “tap to fly” feature, which also makes flight much easier and stress free.

Side by side when comparing the Phantom 4 and Mavic there is one obvious difference, its size.

From a commercial aspect, DJI Phantom 4 Drone cost $1,199.00 dollars. It is a reliable drone used by youtuber, filmmaker, and vlogger, Casey Neistat.

Neistat and numerous other youtubers have praised the Phantom 4 in their youtube reviews and vlogs, as evident by its placement in the top 10 drone for youtube vlogging.

The DJI Mavic is noticeably much smaller than the Phantom 4, but is certainly no less capable. The Mavic sells for $999.99 dollars, and is available at the DJI online store.

The Mavic drone has 4k quality video, a 7 kilometer range, and extra safety precautions.

It’s also equipped with Flight Autonomy, which can avoid obstacles from 49 feet away. In addition to that feature, the Mavic also has precision landing to insure safe takeoff, as well as a 3 axis gimbal to ensure that the camera is stable and produces smooth video footage.

Also, users do not have to have a whole video crew to get stunning footage; the Mavic has a feature called ActiveTrack which can track any object with just a touch of a finger.

The drone can also recognize gestures to take photos, plus, it has a tripod mode to stabilize shots.

Extra pieces in this drone include two sensors, which make it extra reliable. A common problem with drones is their sensors but just in case of an accident, the Mavic has two of them.
A final and surprising feature of the Mavic is its flight time of 27 minutes- impressive for such a compact drone.

Overall, compared to the Phantom 4, the Mavic is portable, has better video quality, has extra safety features to ensure quality shots, and it’s easier to fly. From numerous online comments and reviews, it is clear that users praise its sturdy and compact design.

Physically, it has a smaller camera but it still produces cinematic shots, with a gimbal to stabilize footage. For the asking price, the Mavic is an excellent option for everyone, especially travelers, and has killer footage and many high tech features once exclusive to larger and bulkier drones.
